J. Michael Reidenbach is an experienced litigator and strong advocate on behalf of employers in matters relating to workers’ compensation, employment discrimination and general liability. Mr. Reidenbach serves as lead counsel on matters before both state and federal courts advancing his clients’ interests and driving winning results. He is a trusted partner for both small employers and large, publicly traded companies.
Mr. Reidenbach is a well-known thought leader and champion of employers in Ohio workers’ compensation cases and related matters. He represents self-insured and state-fund employers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, Court of Common Pleas and Appellate Courts. Mr. Reidenbach represents clients across diverse industries including for large hospital systems, manufacturers, transportation and logistic companies, and healthcare providers. This representation includes successfully advising clients on wide ranging workers’ compensation issues, including VSSRs, BWC Audits, Self-Insurance Applications before the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Adjudication Committee, subrogation recovery and excess insurance disputes. His extensive experience includes all aspects of workplace safety such as OSHA investigations and compliance. Mr. Reidenbach is frequently called upon as a contributor for the Ohio Self-Insurers Association and has presented on a wide-array of workers’ compensation topics to Ohio’s major employers.
Mr. Reidenbach also specializes in employment law – counseling clients on employment decisions and defending against EEOC and OCRC charges, discrimination lawsuits and wrongful/retaliatory termination litigation. He regularly advises clients on issues relating to integrated absence management and because of his expertise, has presented to employers on transitional duty programs in compliance with ADA and FMLA requirements. His experience includes successful defense verdicts in complex trucking litigation and general and premises liability cases.
Mr. Reidenbach graduated with his Juris Doctor degree from the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. While in law school, Mr. Reidenbach concentrated his studies on the areas of Litigation, Appellate Advocacy and Labor & Employment Law. He served as an Associate Editor for the prestigious Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. Mr. Reidenbach has received several academic awards and recognitions, including the distinction of Public Service Fellow with Recognition for offering over 200 hours of volunteer legal services to the community. Prior to law school, he graduated cum laude with honors from The Ohio State University.
Mr. Reidenbach enjoys playing golf, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with his family. He is active in his community where he coaches multiple youth sports teams, volunteers and coordinates community events, and serves on the St. Andrew Parish Finance Committee. He lives in Columbus with his wife, Kelly and his four children.
